This photo album contains images documenting George F. Sternberg’s expeditions around 1913 with his father, Charles H. Sternberg. Several expeditions to Canada over five years revealed many fossils and specimens. George Sternberg spent time at the Victoria Memorial Museum of Geological Survey of Canada. George joined the American Museum under Barnum Brown’s expedition in 1914, only to move to his family’s expedition in midsummer. Charles H. Sternberg, George Sternberg, Charlie Sternberg, and Levi Sternberg worked with Jack McGee and Lawrence Lambe on several expeditions in Canada. At the end of the expedition, George joined an expedition team for the Geological Survey of Canada. His crew consisted of Jacey Glen Mayberry, from Red Deer, J.A. Smith, George Housten, and Peter A. Bungart. By 1917, George Sternberg was preparing to leave Canada for Kansas. The final photographs include Levi and Charlie Sternberg. Travels included Red Deer River, Sand Creek, Belly River, and the ghost town of Steveville. New locations that the Sternbergs searched were in Benton, Montana, Battle River, and Drumheller, Alberta, Canada.
