Description
This black and white photograph features the Sternberg party having lunch at the quarry. The large stratified outcropping or hill that Sternberg's team worked from is seen starting from the left to the middle of the photograph. The excavation site is near the right side of this hill. At the entrance of the quarry, Sternberg's colleagues have set up a place to eat lunch. Three men are eating at the makeshift table. Beneath them, two of their horses are eating from a hay bale next to the wooden wagon they had been pulling. On the right side of the photo, the other two horses are eating at another hay bale. Handwriting is below the photograph.
