Description

This black and white photograph features the quarry where the Carnivore skeleton was collected in August 1913 at Dead Lodge Canyon. Charlie M. Sternberg stands in the center in front of an excavated rock face. A shovel is leaning against a rock next to him. Rock strata are visible on the left and right. Rocks, dirt, and geological rubble are visible in the foreground. This image is included in Charles H. Sternberg's book "Hunting Dinosaurs on Red Deer River, Alberta, Canada, Figure 14." Handwriting is below the photograph. The description is on page 55-57.
