This photo album contains images documenting George F. Sternberg’s experience at Fort Hays State University and his work with students and graduates, such as George Pearce and Myrl Walker, at expedition sites. In the late 1930s, Sternberg worked on cleaning and mounting specimens in the winter months. In the summers, Sternberg traveled on expeditions. This album features photographs of summer expeditions with people like Childs Frick, Charles Gilmore, and Sternberg's son, Charles W. Sternberg. Most of the expeditions were in the Kansas /Nebraska region. George F. Sternberg spent the early 1940s working with William Eastman, Charles Lewis Gazin, and others. Sternberg’s expeditions explored the west of the Continental Divide, Montana, New Mexico, and Arizona. Several expeditions in this scrapbook do not include a location or date.
