Description
This black and white photograph features George F. Sternberg processing a Portheus skeleton found west of Elkader, Kansas. Sternberg is sitting next to the head of the fish, and he has a tool in his hand. The tail of the fish, at the bottom part of the photograph, has been processed and is surrounded by a frame. There are various supplies on the left by George. This fossil became part of the Denver Museum of Natural History collections.
