Artist's Statement
A porcelain vessel with black flowers and red accent areas. I use flower language to convey themes of identity and personhood. The chrysanthemums represent remembrance and memory while the spider lilies represent death. I use the flowers as a general symbol of the idea that memories, ideas, and people die and its on us to remember or choose to forget.
