Description
This black and white postcard depicts the St. Francis School in Munjor, Kansas. The school has two floors of windows and a dormer window on the roofline. In the center of the roof is a belfry, with a small vent in the roof next to it. On each end is a chimney. Nineteen people stand in front of the school building, a mixture of children and adults. The children wear knickers or skirts. Several of the adults are wearing hats. An American flag flies from the dormer window in the center of the building. Behind the school building is a street of other buildings. The title of the postcard is above the school and to the left: "St. Francis School, Munjor, Kansas." St. Francis School was completed in 1893. It was a parochial school until 1948 when the Hays School district took over. In the 2000s, this building was used as a Parish Hall.
