Description

This color photograph was taken in 2001 outside the front of the St. Catherine Catholic Church in Salina, Kansas. Two angel statues frame the entrance of the limestone brick church, they wear robes, trumpets are in their hands, and wings are on their backs. Stairs ascend to black double front doors with a quatrefoil stained-glass window on top framed by a brick arch that is pointed with a cross. Two arched windows, one larger and on a middle tower which ascends off frame, one on the left, encase the entrance with two cross pillars on each side, the right side of the church is covered by a large green leafy tree. The tree covers a shed that is only half in frame. A man in a white golf cap, shirt, shoes, and black shorts walks along a path in front of the tree. The numbers 6 25 ’01 are in the lower right corner.
