Description
This black and white photograph was taken at a reception during Homecoming Week in 1952 at the Applied Arts Building at Fort Hays Kansas State College. It depicts three women–one sits and two stand. A woman wears a black suit over a dress shirt, black glasses, a rhinestone brooch, rhinestone earrings, a ring, and a black hat with feathers. The second woman stands at the table and wears a windowpane plaid suit. The short jacket has a single pocket and a matching skirt. The third woman smiles and observes the two women–she wears a black and white polka dot blouse. Draped with a white cloth, the table contains a samovar (fancy metal tea urn), a silver tray, cream and sugar in glass containers, carefully arranged spoons, paper napkins, and about seven empty glass tea/coffee cups. In the background is a blank wall, a wooden door, and a window.
