Abstract
The ever changing environment has lead rural communities to become virtual islands in the Plains Region. Economic changes in agriculture, oil, and other rural business, have caused communities to rethink the way they survive. The purpose of this thesis was to describe the role information centers play in the economic growth in the Plains Region. This was accomplished through the use of surveys that were sent to communities in this region. After analysis of the data it was concluded that information networking centers do have an impact on the economic development of rural communities in the Plains Region.
