Abstract
This study consisted of an analysis of the responsibilities of the public school business manager in selected school districts in central Kansas. Twelve school business managers were interviewed in the spring of 1975 and were asked to respond to questions contained in a prepared survey instrument. The intention of the study was to secure information concerning the training, experience, and responsibilities of the school business official. The need for the study was indicated because of the increasing importance of school business management, the necessity to employ specialists in the unified school districts in Kansas, and to provide information helpful to colleges and universities preparing public school business officials.
