Abstract
John Kenneth Galbraith introduced this concept of countervailing power in the book “American Capitalism”. Since then it has rapidly become accepted as a new theory which equalizes the distributional shares in the market process. This thesis is devoted to developing the meaning of the concept and applying the theoretical operation of the concept to three areas of actual labor-management disputes. After concluding this application, the author has reached the conclusion that the theory in itself can only accomplish its proposed results under specific economic conditions.
