Description

Lewis Field Stadium was a Works Progress Administration project and was finished in 1937. The unique aspect of this stadium was that it was also a dormitory for the men. Known as the Lewis Field Pioneers, the residents of the stadium dormitory helped with the project. Among the Lewis Field Pioneers was a young man from Norton, Kansas who went on to serve his state in the House of Representatives, Keith Sebelius. Date of this photo is unknown.
