Description
This black and white photograph features Lewis Field Stadium was a Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) project and was finished in 1937. The unique aspect of this stadium was that it was also a dormitory for the men. Known as the Lewis Field Pioneers, the residents of the stadium dormitory helped with the project. Among the Lewis Field Pioneers was a Norton, Kansas man who served his state in the House of Representatives Keith Sebelius.
