Description
This color photograph features the interior the sanctuary of the St. Catherine Catholic Church at Catherine, Kansas. There are two rows of oak pews with two rows of hanging columns above them. Two stained-glass windows and three Stations of the Cross are on each side wall. There are thirteen statues across three spired triptych altars. The center altar has a tonsured monk in brown on the right; a pink-and-gold-dressed man holding a staff and a child on the left. St. Catherine of Alexandria is located in the center and wears a gold crown, green and red clothes, and holds a wheel. The left altar features a statue of a pink-and-blue-garbed Mary with a woman in green to the right and a person with a child to the left. The right altar’s statue is a red-and-green-clothed Jesus with a red-and-blue-dressed figure to the left and a blue-and-pink-dressed figure to the right. Statues of a monk and a nun flank the altars on the right and left, respectively.
