Description
This black and white photograph features four men at the Standard Oil Service Station on Main Street in Hays, Kansas, in the 1970s. Two men are on top of the canopy of the service station, and two men are underneath the canopy. A pole connects the canopy to the ground. The building is light-colored, with two dark stripes running horizontally near the top roof. The two men atop the station look down at the cameras they hold. The man in plaid slacks holds a twin-lens reflex camera. A car is in the photo’s foreground. Behind the vehicle are two men standing underneath the canopy. One man is wearing a plaid hooded jacket. The other is wearing a suit. In the background is the side of a brick building with a barred window. Written at the top of the photograph in light pencil are the words “Ed” and “Steve.”
