A photograph of the formal check presentation ceremony for the creation of the Volga-German Heritage Center. The Volga-German Heritage Center is now the Center for Ethnic Studies and is housed in Forsyth Library. From left to right: Fr. Blaine Burkey, Dr. Dan Rupp, Lawrence Weigel (back), Leo Dorzweiler, LaVerne Dechant, University President Gerald Tomanek, Leona Pfeifer, Jack Wilhelm, Dr. James Forsythe, and Rupert Pfannenstiel. Photograph was taken in President Tomanek's office in Sheridan Coliseum. Handwritten caption on back.
