Description
This black and white photograph shows two rows of marching band performers standing in an open field. The first row is the drum line. Three performers on the left carry marching bass drums. One performer in the center holds cymbals together horizontally. The next performer carries marching toms or marching tenor drums. The next two performers carry marching snare drums. The performer on the far right holds his hands aloft, cut off by the frame. The second row is blocked by the first, with nothing visible but heads and bibbers. All performers are in the same marching band uniform. The pants are black with white stripes along the sides. They wear shakos, or marching band hats with feather-like plumes on the front. The uniform shirt of the center figure has an ‘H’ shape in the center of the white fabric.
