The black and white photograph shows a twirling girl who is a part of a high school marching band competing in Band Day at Fort Hays State University. The baton is in her right hand, and the twirler is holding her arms parallel to the ground to the side of her in a T pose. She wears a sequined leotard, white crew socks, and white shoes. She has short, curly hair styled in a mullet. She stands on a grass field. A female member of the color guard, wearing a long-sleeved sweater and skirt, is visible in the background. A bass drum player is also visible, wearing dark uniform pants and a shako band hat with a plume.
