Description

This black and white photograph features Gerald Tomanek with Former Kansas Governor Robert Bennett and another man at the Fort Hays State University 75th Anniversary. University President Gerald Tomanek, Robert Bennett, and another man attended an event during the 75th anniversary of Fort Hays State University on June 23, 1977, celebrating the completion of the David Andrew Riegel Animal Science Laboratory. Gerald Tomanek stands in the middle of the two men. The two men on Gerald Tomanek's side face each other with their sides to the camera. Each of the three men is wearing a nametag and ribbon with the text “FHSU 1902-1977” on it. All three are wearing 1970s suits with wide lapels, ties, and white collared dress shirts. The man on the photo's left side and Gerald Tomanek are wearing glasses. Straw or grass and a makeshift platform of linoleum and plywood can be seen in the background. The wall behind them is light colored, and one dark metal structural beam is visible. The venue is a steel building on the University Farm.
