Description

This black and white photograph features Former Kansas Governor Robert Bennett and President Gerald W. Tomanek speaking at the Fort Hays State University 75th Anniversary Ceremony. Three people talking at an event during the 75th anniversary of Fort Hays State University on June 23, 1977, celebrating the completion of the David Andrew Riegel Animal Science Laboratory. Bennet and Tomanek are dressed in suits with wide lapels and ties and are looking at each other, while the person on the right is looking at both of them. Tomanek is wearing dark-rimmed glasses. The person on the right side of the photo is wearing a checkered shirt. Robert Bennett has a nametag and ribbon with the text “FHSU 1902-1977” on it. The stage/platform with multiple folding chairs can be seen in the background behind the people. A square window can be seen high on the wall in the background. The venue is a steel building on the university farm.
