Description
This black and white photograph was taken outside Forsyth Library at Fort Hays State University on June 23, 1977. Robert Luehrs and a college woman stand on a square dais on the lawn. Luehrs, with a mustache and glasses, wears a sports coat over a formal shirt and tie and holds a cylindrical time capsule. Beside the man is a student who wears a short skirt, a ruffled top with ruffled sleeves, and dress shoes with chunky heels and buckles. Two tables on the platform are different heights. The time capsule stands and a cardboard box rest on the taller card table, and a portable wooden sound system rests on the short table. In the background, a tall cedar tree is adjacent to the library. College students in casual dress and older people in office attire observe the man and woman. A girl with barrettes wears a puff-sleeve blouse and dark pants and sits on the sidewalk and grass.
