Description
The black and white photo depicts a small group of people–about ten men and women–sitting on a portable platform stage in metal folding chairs. The skit features Kirk Naylor, of the faculty, portrayed as William S. Picken, in the early day classroom scene. The students are watching Naylor wearing a tuxedo, a white shirt, and a white bowtie and holding a wooden pointer. The photo was taken on October 31, 1952, at Fort Hays Kansas State College in Sheridan Coliseum. Two women wear long-sleeved blouses with long, dark skirts, and another woman wears a three-quarter-sleeved blouse. Men wear a mix of light and dark suit coats over formal shirts with bow ties. On the stage are three vintage microphone stands, a portable chalkboard, a wooden desk with an American flag, and a W.K.S.N. flag. The background is draped with a light cloth and dark stage curtains.
