Description
The black-and-white photo depicts a small group of young people–about ten men and women–sitting on a portable platform stage in metal folding chairs. They are watching a speaker wearing a tuxedo, a white shirt, and a white bowtie and holding a wooden pointer. The photo was taken on October 31, 1952, at Fort Hays Kansas State College in Sheridan Coliseum. Two young women wear long-sleeved blouses with long, dark skirts, and another woman wears a three-quarter-sleeved blouse. Young men wear a mix of light and dark suit coats over formal shirts with bow ties. On the stage are three vintage microphone stands, a portable chalkboard, a wooden desk with an American flag and a W.K.S.N. flag. Between the speaker and chalkboard is a woman sitting in a metal folding chair. The background is draped with a light cloth and dark stage curtains.
