Description

This black and white photograph features the 1952 Students Performing at the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of Fort Hays State University. Six students are standing in the Sheridan Coliseum. The women are wearing costumes that represent 19th-century America. The student second farthest from the left, is wearing a black scarf around her neck. The student third farthest from the right, is wearing a wool crisscross bowtie with a metallic pin. The student second farthest from the right, is wearing a black choker with a large piece of jewelry pinned to the front. The women in the picture are wearing either leather tap shoes or high heels. The background shows the coliseum’s seating with a handmade backdrop on the gymnasium floor. “50th Anniversary” is written on the top of the backdrop.
