Description

This black and white photograph features a violinist at the 50th Anniversary of Fort Hays State University. Lois Rarick Cooke is playing for a crowd. The violinist is wearing a two-piece, patterned skirt suit with white pearls around her neck. She has a boutonniere of white carnations, fabricated leaves, and ribbons pinned to her right shoulder. The violin rests between her chin and left shoulder. Cooke holds the neck of the violin with her left hand and the bow with her right hand. There is a condenser microphone in front of the violinist and an arrangement of white carnation flowers to her right. The background shows seated patrons watching Cooke perform.
