Description

This black and white photograph features a couple performing in a theatrical production. They are on a stage framed with fabric curtains, including a draped stage skirt. The performing couple stands in front of a painted backdrop of the historic Fort Hays Blockhouse on the prairie. They are looking offstage and holding hands. They are both wearing pioneer-style clothes. The woman is wearing a plain, light, ankle-length dress with a single horizontal row of ribbon trim around the skirt and each puffed sleeve. The sleeves also have lace trim. She is wearing a dark sunbonnet tied at her chin. The man wears denim overalls, a long-sleeved plaid shirt, and a straw sunhat.
