Description

This black and white photograph contains eight women in dark sailor-styled athletic uniforms from the early 1900s lined up in two rows, with four in each for the “Old Timers” gathering in June 1952. They were called Bloomer Girls. They are performing a routine and wear dark stockings and high-top white sneakers, and their hair is pulled back with large satin bows. They each hold their arms out straight in front with a dumbbell in each hand and pose facing forward, with one foot placed in front of the other and looking past the photographer. They are performing a routine on the gym floor of Sheridan Coliseum.
