Description

This black and white photograph contains eight young women in dark sailor-styled athletic uniforms from the early 1900s. They were called Bloomer Girls. They are posed for the “Old Timers” gathering in June 1952. They are all dressed in the same uniform with dark stockings and white high-top sneakers, and their hair is pulled back with large satin bows. They are posed in a close line-up, facing towards the left side of the photo and gazing diagonally to the photographer's left. Each young woman is carrying dumbbells in their hands. They stand on the wooden Sheridan Coliseum gym floor.
