Abstract
The purpose of this study is to bring together the viewpoints of writers in the field and active teacher-counselors concerning the dual role of the teacher-counselor. An analysis of the various viewpoints will provide a basis for outlining some of the advantages and disadvantages of the teacher-counselor's dual role, especially as it affects the counseling relationship. This information should be of benefit to active teacher-counselors and also future teacher-counselors.
