Abstract
The athletic coach and the school administrator are charged with many responsibilities, among them is providing an adequate interscholastic athletic program. Problems arise as how to best organize and administer the program to fulfill the needs of the student, school, and community. A second problem area includes the types, uses, and values of various teaching devices. It was the purpose of this study (1) to determine the scope of the football programs in Western Kansas secondary schools, (2) to determine the teaching aids used, and (3) to determine the amount of use and value of the aid as rated by the coach who was using the aid.
