Abstract
It was the purpose of this study to discover the attitude of the American people (including various classes from the common laborer to the President) toward war as expressed in a limited body of current literature. The materials concerning war published in the Saturday Evening Post and the Atlantic Monthly magazines during the years 1938 and 1939 have been chosen for this purpose.
