Abstract
Previous research has shown a positive relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and the ability to decode emotion from music (Resnicow, Salovey, & Repp, 2004). However, music used in such studies has been produced in a laboratory setting where a musician was instructed to play a piece of music to produce a certain emotion.
