Abstract
As I look over the course of my work, I see not only the work but the inspiration that prompted my various decisions and visual directions. I see my pieces as a collection of ideas, images, thoughts, and feelings. These elements are combined either consciously or unconsciously using a visual language. Although originality is something that I adhere to, I cannot help but see little bits and pieces I took from here and there to assist in the creation of my work. I sometimes enjoy coming to the realization that a piece I have created is extremely similar to something in my past, perhaps my childhood. This appropriation of imagery and ideas is the concept behind my show.
