Abstract
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Lillian Harman used the radical journal Lucifer, the Light-Bearer to challenge orthodox views on sexuality and marriage. Harman rejected the traditional authority of civil and religious laws in an attempt to emancipate women. She did more than merely write about her views; she also lived her beliefs.
