Abstract
My earliest memories reflect images of forgotten objects in Kansas scenes. Forgotten objects and cast offs reflect the mystery of the places and spiritual essence of rural America. The old rusted washpan hanging on a nail by a screen door conjures the essence of the hopes and dreams of a rural woman struggling with the elements of weather, sunlight, and daily activities. The resulting beauty preserves the memories of yesterdays gone forever and the spirit of the people who contributed to the milieu that we live in the present. The viewer can call to mind the spirit of those who lived before us and stand in awe of the forces of nature that interacted with the people and the environment.
