Abstract
The title “Classical Innuendo” refers to the nature of my subject matter in that I often use references to art from the past. These references are combined with elements of modern society, such as newspaper photographs, movie stars, and rock musicians, followed by a selected backdrop that describes the space and adds to the psychological impact of the imagery. This juxtaposition often results in satirical statements depicting certain vices and follies of modern man as he clings to the past and yet seeks to redefine himself. This redefinition concerns such things as the place of visual art in society today, and feelings about events of the past.
