Abstract

In my thesis work I have explored alternative approaches to basing ceramic forms. Traditionally, much emphasis has been placed on the ending of a ceramic piece, its upper edge or lip. My intention has been to bring interest, excitement, tension and uniqueness to the bottom or base of my works and at the same time exploring color through the use of low-fire glaze materials.
