Abstract
This study sought to determine teacher attitudes toward discipline and the relationship between teacher values, and modes of discipline. To test these hypotheses during the spring of 01/01/1983, teachers in three different areas in Kansas complete the Attitudinal Assessment of Discipline (AAOD), a questionnaire designed by the researcher in accordance with information contained in the review of literature. The questionnaire was composed of forty-three questions. The first section was based on the Likert scale. The second section consisted of “yes” or “no” statements, the third section was to rank-order three dilemmas, and the final section consisted of three open-ended questions.
