Abstract
The works presented in this thesis record my inner response to the outer world. The result from being so completely immersed in the essence of nature that I get beyond the external focus and focus on its emotional, psychological and spiritual impact upon myself. Thus I am forever attempting to unlock the other-dimensions of the world and creatively reveal the inner reality discovered beneath the shifting exterior. This forces me to a personal awareness of myself, my life experiences derived from my own unique set of experiences of living, first in a foreign country, then growing up in an inner-city and now, in my adult life, relating to a rural area. By reaching down into these various levels I hope to portray different aspects of universal human response.
