Abstract
The object of my thesis is to exploit and perfect the most basic techniques of printmaking. Instead of experimenting with the newest materials and tools, I endeavor to use the traditional methods used by printmakers for centuries, such as basic line etching, drypoint, soft-ground etching, and aquatint etching. Thereby relying on stronger ideas and images and less on the mechanics of the medium.
