Abstract

The results of this concentrated work with geometric clay slab containers has produced a greater understanding of the media and of my philosophy of art. The forms are becoming more sculptural and will probably lead to the discontinuation of the container as a vehicle for creative expression. It is not necessary for a clay object to be functional in order to have merit. The form itself will stand alone as a statement.
