Abstract
The following thesis is the result of experimentation in the manipulation of value for the creation of positive and negative space. Space is used in three different ways in this thesis: first, in the reversal of roles, second, in the creation of form and shape through value contrast, and finally, in a metamorphosis from positive to negative.
