Abstract
Presently, modern man has become more concerned with his environment and pollution. One of the areas of concern has been the composition of rainwater. Only recently, interest has developed in the composition of rainwater in areas other than where pollution was expected. There is some evidence that the composition of rainwater has been changing in both urban and rural areas over the last several years. One such change has occurred in the form of a lower pH value. It has been hypothesized that the lower pH values have resulted from the presence of sulfuric and nitric acids in the atmosphere.
