Abstract

My thesis involves floor based compositions and, in an attempt to make very heavy looking, earthbound forms appear airborne, some are suspended through the use of macrame and weaving techniques. This presents a special challenge in that both knot-tying and ceramics have been considered "craft" oriented in the past.
