Abstract
The following is the written portion of a thesis production of a full-length play, Denny Dey's Grain of Sand. It is not my intention to try to recreate that production on paper, for such an attempt would be absurd when dealing with an art that is concrete yet transitory. My purpose here then is not to capture and hold what is already past, but to leave a brief record of the production. I will try, both in the analysis and records of the play, to bring out the ideas and staging which were bound up in the production--what we found in the play at that time.
