Abstract
The purpose of this thesis has been to execute through painting media, using the figure as a universal point of reference, the essence of being: that is, the visible presence, and the reality of intangible forces which surround. The figure is used as a departure point to project beyond the canvas edge, the conception that the corporeal body is unreal and true reality lies in the transcendental spirit.
