Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of a random sample of superintendents in selected unified school districts in Kansas regarding the priorities of competencies in educational administration which they believe superintendents should possess. A related purpose was to investigate the relationship between these perceptions and the various characteristics of the superintendents who hold them--age, superintendency experience, and the student enrollment size of the particular school district.
