Abstract
The purpose of this study was to present a rhetorical criticism of four representative eulogies given in behalf of John Fitzgerald Kennedy to determine how closely modern speakers follow the rhetorical theories of classical scholars in epideictic speeches. It was this writer's belief that the amount of time and work expended on this study was justified because of the historical significance of the person, and the lack of scholarly investigation in the area of eulogistic speaking.
