Description
This black and white photograph depicts a dig site. A group of six men sit against an automobile. They have taken their hats off and hold them in their hands. George F. Sternberg is the third from the left. In front of the group is the excavation pit where the fossil of the human skeleton was discovered. Tools and equipment are gathered by the back of the vehicle. Handwritten text is on the left side of the negative.
