Description
This black and white photograph features an excavation site with a mound containing exposed bones. In the top left, a metal bucket is filled with plaster in preparation for field jacketing. A pile of tools lies to the bottom left of the bucket, including a hammer, chisel, and probes and picks of various sizes. Following to the right of the central fossiliferous stone, a pickaxe rests a pickaxe rests in position, appearing to strike a nearby rock. Another hammer and chisel, a brush, a sledgehammer, and another pickaxe lie scattered around the fossils. A jug with a wick protruding from the mouth sits to the right of the exposed mass, with a label reading “THISTLE.” Numbers are written below the photograph.
